Gateway Guide for Mac


Points to Note
  • You are reminded that when connecting to the school network via the Gateway you are bound by the same ICT Policies and Procedures as those for when you are within School
  • You are not permitted to copy files from the Gateway to your personal device or vice versa
In order access the Gateway on a Mac you first need to open up the App Store on your device, search for 'Microsoft Remote Desktop' and install the app.

Once the app has finished installing, find it in your Applications folder and launch it.

You will then be presented with the screen below. Locate the drop down arrow next to the '+' icon, click it and select 'Remote Resources'.

In the URL window type in the following address:

https://gateway.st-peters.solihull.sch.uk

and click 'Find Feed'.

When prompted for a user account, click on the drop down menu and select 'Add User Account'.

Type in your username and password exactly as you would in school, e.g. bloggsj or 10bloggsj and click 'Save'.

Confirm your settings by clicking 'Add Feed'.

You should then be presented with a screen like below showing an icon called 'St Peter's Remote Gateway', double click the icon to launch the Gateway.

  • If you are a student the Gateway will then open
  • If you are a member of staff then you will then be prompted for your two factor authentication before the Gateway will open
