  • What to pack

    Pupils must be able to carry their own luggage. Keep luggage within airline allowance limits (22kg hold luggage + 10kg hand luggage). During our trip, we will be visiting two geothermal lagoons: The Blue Lagoon and The Secret Lagoon.

    Please ensure your son/daughter brings:

    · Swimming costume/trunks

    · For girls: please ensure swimwear is suitable for use during menstruation (e.g. period-proof swimwear or appropriate protection)

    · Towel

    · Hair conditioner – recommended after swimming in geothermal water

    Essential Clothing List Layering is key to staying warm and dry in Iceland. Please pack the following:

    · Sturdy water-resistant walking boots

       Ice grips/crampons (available for less than £5 online, e.g. Amazon).

    · Thick socks – at least three pairs

    · Normal socks

    · Underwear

    · Warm waterproof coat with hood

    · Waterproof over-trousers

    · Jumpers and fleeces – for layering

    · Thermal base layers

    · Casual trousers – avoid jeans for outdoor wear

    · Warm hat, scarf, and gloves

    · Indoor clothes and footwear (trainers)

    · Pyjamas

     

    Other Essentials

    · Day bag (rucksack) – waterproof and suitable for hikes

    · Reusable water bottle – tap water is safe and excellent quality

    · Sun cream and sunglasses – glare from snow or ice is possible

    · Lip balm and moisturiser

    · Phone charger and power bank

    · Plug adaptor – Iceland uses the standard European plug (Type C )

    · Snacks – although all meals in Iceland are included, food can be expensive in shops.

    · Small entertainment items for flights and free time.

    Please be aware that your son/daughter needs to remain responsible for all of the items they bring with them at all times during the trip. 

     

    Spending Money up to £100 worth of Icelandic Króna (ISK) is more than sufficient. If preferred, you may wish to set your son/daughter up with a Monzo or Revolut virtual card, which can be used for small purchases abroad without needing to carry cash

     

    Medication and Health If your son/daughter requires medication, please ensure they bring enough for the full trip. Any essential medication (e.g. epipen, insulin, inhalers) must be accompanied by a doctor’s letter or prescriptions to assist with airport security. Please notify the school of any relevant medical conditions or medication in advance.
